Coupons

I know it may be a little embarrassing for a girl in her early 20's to be walking around with a million coupons in their hand, so I have thought of another solution.  ALWAYS SPEAK UP AND ASK!  This is something my mom made sure I should always do when I was younger and when it comes to shopping it's an A+.  Though this process may not work everywhere, it is is extremely simple.  Bringing up some conversation with the cashier is always a good start.  Then, give a little hint by saying, "Hey are there any coupons available for this week." Some may respond with snotty and rude remarks, but others may offer you something good.  I even use this tip at my near by A.C. Moore!  The best place to use this technique for fashion items, and in my opinion for shoes, is at Macy's and/or Lord and Taylor.  Monthly, if not weekly, these two department stores offer coupons to their costumers in the newspaper.  You are almost always allowed to use that one coupon for the full week and on more than one item.  So, if you are timid about actually carrying the coupon, ask!  Find a friendly woman, strike up conversation, then ask, "Hey I forgot my coupon at home, mind if I borrow yours really quick?"  It's extremely rare you get someone says no because they are in it for the same reason.  This method got me an awesome pair of $95.00 Sperry Top-Siders that I have been eying for months for only $60.00 bucks!  Trust me, that wasn't my first time shopping without some coupons, it works.  Who knows, maybe sometime in the future, you can offer a favor to another friendly, cheap chica!

Sample Sales

Some people may think they are a hassle to get to, but for great clothes at a really awesome price, I would not steer you away from any sample sale.  It is always good to hear about them from word of mouth, but if your feeling blue and really need a shopping day with the girls, simple type it into Google and you can find some really great options near you.  My sister works for Liz Claiborne in Jersey.  Some may say, "Liz Claiborne is for woman 50+" or if you're an expert you'll say, "How great, they own Kate Spade, Juicy Couture, DKNY, and other great companies."  They host a sample sale at least once a month!  But to top it off everything is $75 or below!  You can not go wrong ladies.  So check it out ladies, tickets are cheap, prices are cheap, and the clothes are fabulous.

When all else fails...SAMPLE SALES!

Shop It To Me

About a year ago, I discovered this awesome website.  It is called "Shop It To Me."  At first I had thought I was just signing myself up for a scam, but I was definitely wrong.  Like stated on the homepage, you can receive 40-70% off on your favorite brands in just few quick and easy steps.  Most of you may think they provide you with just a couple of "those stores", but NO!  They allow you to choose as many stores as you'd like from 863 great (and pretty expensive) brands!!!  After that, you choose any clothing type, your sizes, provide your email and what days you want to receive and email with these fabulous deals.
From personal experience, I consistently receive my emails on Sundays and have purchased at least 5 items  since I've discovered this website for pretty decent prices.

So hurry, go sign up! Just click Start Now.  You'll love it, I promise.

PARKAS

I am not the kind of girl that will only wear an outfit once.  If you change your accessories and maybe put it with a skirt or even different shoes, the shirt you wore a week ago can look brand new.  I enjoy buying clothes at Forever 21, H&M, and all of those cute but, awesomely cheap stores.  However, almost everything these stores carry are styles that may not be "in" in a month.  Some of you may wonder where you can find that classic black cashmere sweater for less than $200 AND that will hold up for at least a year or so? Or in my case, an awesome spring/fall parka in the middle of winter?  Hey, a girl can dream about springtime!  And to my spur-of-the-moment surprise, my dream came true.

I had taken quick trip to the Macy's in the nearby mall to return a comforter.  The process went along a bit quicker than I had planned, so I had a good 10 minutes to shop around the petites section, (sucks to be 4' 9'', I know).  But on a better note, there had been a sale!!! If I can give you any advice at all, it would be to ALWAYS hit the sale section no matter where you are.  Going through the racks, I wasn't finding anything that caught my attention.  And then, right before my eyes, it appeared.

An awesome Style & Co. army green parka, which, in fact, is one of my favorite colors, just hanging there in MY size.  When I looked at the original price to find it had been $100, I shook my head and thought "Oh no, no, no."  But to think, it was marked down to 50 bucks, with an additional 25% off, along with store credit from my comforter.  After doing the math, this awesome piece of material would only cost me $25.00!!!  Call me crazy, but that is a bargain.  I soon revisited my first reaction and thought, "Oh yes, yes, yes."  I knew that I wouldn't be able to wear this jacket for a few months or so, considering the season, but that did not concern me one bit with such a great price.  But thank god we have had warm winter days here in Jersey.  I have worn this $25 jacket almost everyday for 2 months now and believe it was worth every penny.  Plus, I can get much more use out of it when spring comes rolling around.

The moral of the story is, if you find a piece of clothing on sale for a really great price, grab it, and purchase it as fast as you can.  Not only is the price phenomenal, but you will also get several compliments on it!  It was just a quick trip to the local Macy's that I found something I've been scoping out for months for a terrific price.  Now,  isn't that much better then buying a full priced item on the spot "just because".  It may take some time, but definitely not the money.  I guess the saying, "Good things come to those who wait." really is true!
